Splitreason.com – Zombie is the new Red

•February 7, 2010 • 1 Comment

The awesome guys at Split Reason sent me some shirts that I designed for them! They actually came out really nice. The one pictured above is a medium, so the print is pretty big and feels nice. Printed on Heather black.

Zombies have always been in and cool, but now in the last five years, zombie infections have literally spread across to the internet into normal daily life. Now at bars there are Zombie Crawls, and all kinds of ways to get dressed up and look for brraaaaiinns!

Go buy a few over at SplitReason – gear for geeks and gamers.

Belio 10

I got published!

I was asked by the cool peeps over at BELIO to do some artwork for their 10 year Anniversary project. I was very excited and humbled to be asked to be part of a magazine and such amazing art.

The briefing from BELIO was to do any type of art in my style and just make sure to add their company name somwhere. So why not some severed fingers with blood spelling out Belio!

The book was huge, nicely done, and very excited what 2010 has in store for my art! YAY ME!

Standoutstickers.com promo

I got my stickers back from the great guys over at StandOutstickers.com

They came out great. The textures and the colors were spot on. Sometimes you always wonder if a printer can get the small details on textures, especially with real life, natural textures.

StandOut Stickers had a promo on one of my favorite t-shirt sites, Emptees. They posted a thread showing off their stickers and as most emptees posts, the members didn’t trust it and complained about pricing. I think the guys over at SOS decided to put their money where their stickers are and ran a promo for a set of 50 free stickers of any size, any cute and any image you want.

After a week the thread had over 500 posts, and hundreds of emptees members were noticing that these stickers are pretty awesome and worth the prices. They are very competitive and now that I have seen the samples and how they handled all the customer service, I know this is a company I will be using later for promotional materials.

Here are some examples of how I used the stickers as hang tags on my products for Discreetly Greek. I also put them in orders, and on the black poly mailers I use for shipping!

Here are some more photos of what they can do with some of their custom cutting machines! You want a foot shaped sticker, they will do it!

New submission to Threadless!

King Hippo, originally uploaded by Integral Apparel.

Hey I have sitting on this design for some time now, and I had no idea what to do with it. I started 2009 thinking I was going to do a gamer tee line, but after some research, I found that there are well established brands that have that niche locked up, and theres no way I could beat them, so this design sat dusty on my computer.

Today, I said screw it, I am going to re-work it and see what people thought. After a few crits and comments, the owner/founder of Threadless posted on the same thread and told me to sub it! He said will probably do well!

Here is the link

http://www.threadless.com/submission/250404/King_of_the_jun_Fridge

So after some arm twisting, I ended up subbing it, it should be available for voting soon.
Wish me luck, if it prints, I can win $2000! A lot better pay out if I would sold it. But if it doesn’t make it at Threadless, I will see maybe if 80stees.com, or Jinx clothing might want it.

Smoke time!

Smoke time!, originally uploaded by Integral Apparel.

Well, It was time to show off my xmas presents, and the best way is to make you salivate! I got a smoker for xmas from my wonderful girlfriend, and I couldn’t help and wait, and set it up this weekend, grabbed some meat (that’s what she said) and got it rolling!

Here was my basic process:

  • Hickory wood chips
  • Apple juice for the drip dray and soaked the wood chips in it
  • 8 lb brisket
  • 9 lb pork shoulder
  • Basic rub
  • and 18 loooonnng hours of smoking!

It was fun and long process! I had to wake up every 3 hrs or so to change the wood chips so it didn’t have that harsh burnt flavor.
It is a learning process, but I have always been good at cooking and grilling so I thought this would have a learning curve, but nothing I am afraid of!
Enjoy the pics and if you have any tips and tricks on smoking, lets share em!
Have a safe Holidays!

Discreetly greek updates

•December 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Whoa, long blog no post! Whatever that means!
Discreetly Greek is in full swing! I want to first let everyone know that the tees ready to roll, and we are having a great release for the Fall Line S.C.W.O.N.T.S.T.O.P.

It is a blast seeing the reactions of bruhs, greeks and customers of the site. The response to REAL fashionable clothing for greeks is amazing. I have worked hard on this line, and plan to make it even better in the future.

A quick updates and changes:

We will soon move away from DTG and print on demand to screen printing shorty. Once the orders are more consistent, I will know which sizes to stock and that will help with overhead.

Hang tags, and inside care tags should be ready for the Spring 2010 release. I haven’t finalized what will be in the care tag(wash instructions) but I know that is needed to really brand Discreetly Greek and separate it from other greek apparel companies.

Here is a snapshot of the current tags that are printed!

And hopefully in 2010, I will attend my first convention as a vendor. I have been saying it for years, but its about time to put my money (literally) where my mouth is. Once bruhs and other greek see Discreetly Greek in public and can touch and feel the product, the infection will begin!

Thanks for all the support and hope I strained your eyes enough to read this!

If you are interested in joining the Discreetly Greek facebook fan page
make sure you click the link to get you set up. Most of my updates, promo codes and even freebies will only be through my fan page and twitter!

Zombie Decayor!

EEK! Long time no post!

This is a new design I plan on subbing to Springleap.com

They are having a zombies and undead contest so I thought this would be a good fit. The design is called Zombie Decayor like, decor, but with decay! Gosh I am sure I didn’t have to spell that out, but you never know.

The contest will run in November, so I will keep you updated so you can vote suckas!

Here are some alternate colorways, if your bored you can let me know which you think is better. I am partial to the grey, only because it’s more sellable, but I always love some bright funky 80’s skater colors!

Album artwork meme

Album artwork meme, originally uploaded by Integral Apparel.

I know this is an old one, but still a goodie.
This internet meme is not only fun, but a good portfolio filler and practice, you can never learn too much when it comes to design and artwork, I always learn something new or a new tool, so thats why this meme is great!

Basically by following a set of strict rules at the site below or the list I have here, and make your own album cover, its funny how not only do they sometimes make sense, people actually now are doing these for real albums and getting commissioned for it!
http://fishbowl.pastiche.org/2008/01/12/album_art_meme/
How to create your album cover:

Your band name is the title of your first hit on Wikipedia’s random page

Your album name is taken from the end of the last quote on this random quotes page

Your album cover must be made from the fourth picture on Flickr’s interesting photos page

Discreetly Greek :: Alpha Kappa Alpha ::Tag it up, originally uploaded by Integral Apparel.

Our new design at Discreetly Greek for the lovely ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. I try real hard to do designs for the frats and sororities that step outside the box. This design came from a long night at the computer trying capture what it’s like to be a neo. After a long process your finally able to wear some pari, and sometimes you might over do it. Letters on your shirt, socks, hat, lavalier and a landyard! This design is for the neo in all of us!

This will be released with our Fall 2009 line.

Check out our current Discreetly Greek line and upcoming tees and soon…Posters!
